AISA

A brief overview on the club’s achievements

The club has had its first successful lesson on the 8th of December 2018 where we learned the basics of aviation, these include the types of airplanes, aerodynamics, basic plane control surfaces, basic parts of the airplane and finally had a go on the flight simulator to try out what we learnt. The club lasted for over 4 hours and 16+ students joined us.

In the time prior to the 1st lesson, Mr. Firas and I talked about setting up this club and wrote a plan that took 2 weeks to complete, then we gathered around 3 other enthusiasts and made them contributors as part of the club where the help to organize things out. Mr. Firas and I, as well as the other 3 members had a weekly meeting every Saturday Morning where we planned what things we should aim and achieve in the club. Us 5 planned for over a month until we were finally ready to advertise the club throughout the school and officially start it on the 8th of December.

Mr. Firas and I assigned specific roles to each admin. One was the club’s official Photographer and editor while the others help manage social media accounts and keep them up to date. Our first meeting of 2019 and the 2nd since the club officially began will start on Saturday morning, 12th of January.

Plans for the future has already been in place by Mr. Firas and I, where we set-up blueprints and gathered Ideas to create the very first school-based flight simulator here in Riyadh, so that members of the group can practice what they have learnt and new visitors and parents who want to join the school view them as an extraordinary and unique idea to the rest of the schools on Riyadh. We also planned on increasing the number of meetings per week, this exclusive for Al-Rowad students and is free of charge, Students from outside Al-Rowad are welcome and have to pay a small fee prior to joining the club.
